Guidelines for Photo Submission/Front-Page Featured Unit
-
The unit being featured must have been an MCCGA Circuit
member in the previous season (currently - 2007)
-
The photos must be images from a parent, director or
other local photographer. You may not submit copyrighted images from
Jolesch or any other professional event photographer without explicit,
written permission from the photographer.
-
You may submit up to 6 images to be used in the
"Featured Unit" image on the front page.
-
Selection of "Featured Units" is based on first come,
first served. We will change out the Featured Unit weekly (unless there
are no new images submitted throughout the week in which case the
Featured Unit will remain on the front page until another set of
pictures has been submitted from another unit)
-
Featured Units may be in any of the represented classes
in either Color Guard or Percussion.
What Makes a Great Feature Photo/Gallery Page?
-
Full size, full resolution images are best - even though
the image on the front page animation is relatively small. Please send
the best quality images you have so I can make your unit look the
absolute best I can! If your photos are quite large - you might need to
email them 2 or 3 at a time. I will crop to the dimensions necessary for
the front page rotation - and then archive a feature page with the
larger images in the Photo Gallery.
-
You can decide what pictures best feature your unit. If
you have a very large unit - you might choose one image that showcases
the entire unit, and then several additional images that feature smaller
ensembles - perhaps sabres, rifles or flags only (Color Guard), battery,
keyboard or pit (Percussion). If your show has special solo sequences -
perhaps an image with the soloists. You may submit up to 6 images for
your Feature. (If you send more than 6 - only 6 will be chosen)
-
If you draft a paragraph about your Unit - it will be
included on the archived Photo Gallery page along with the larger sized
pictures. The archived Gallery pages will be a permanent part of the
MCCGA website.
Removal of Pictures
If you find that you have submitted a picture that includes
a member who prefers not to be pictured on a website (some parents have
concerns about this - even when the members are not identified by name) -
please email the
webmaster to request that picture be removed. To avoid this - you may
want to include a photo release form at the start of your season if your
school or organization does not already require one.
