MCCGA Scholarship Application Information

NOTE: Revised deadline & mailing address

I. Application

1. Only one scholarship application to be accepted per unit
2. Applicants must be an active performing member of a unit that will attend the 2008 MCCGA Championships
3. Applicants must be in their Senior year of High school or currently attending college.
4. All applications must be typed
5. Applicants must include high school or college transcripts and an explanation of the point system the school uses (i.e. 4 point scale)
6. Applicants must turn in 2 letters of recommendation written be adults who are in no way related to the applicant
7. Applicants may represent either a MCCGA winter guard or percussion line
8. All applications must be postmarked on or before March 8, 2008 (deadline extended)
9. Applicants must represent units that will be attending the 2008 MCCGA Championships
10. Each performing unit may submit one scholarship applicant
11. MCCGA will offer scholarships in the amount of $500. The number of scholarships to be awarded will be determined by the annual budget
12. The scholarship committee may choose to interview the scholarship finalists
13. Transcripts must be provided
    

II. Criteria

1. Grade Point Average
2. Number of years involved in performance activities
3. Neatness & thoroughness of application materials
4. Future plans in performance and pageantry activities
   

III. Rubric

The scholarship committee will utilize a rubric to score the scholarship candidates based on the above stated criteria and to assist in the decision process.
